How are your chakras today? Chakras are a mysterious and controversial subject. Chances are you may never first-hand experience your own chakras, may not feeeel them, or seeee them, or perceive them in some other way. However, the fact is people feel better after chakra healing kinesiology sessions. This article explains the basic concepts of chakra system and their use in healing with energetic kinesiology.

The health of your chakras is apparent from the degree of your fulfilment in life and your physical health.

Three things you need to know about chakras:

1. The health of your chakras is apparent from the degree of your fulfilment in life and your physical health.

2. Colour, size and other invisible characteristics of your chakras are beside the point. What important is how you feel about yourself and how satisfied you are with your life.

3. Chakra healing starts with self-inquiry. What does not work in your life as well as you would like it to? If you would like to test yourself using chakra healing questionnaire click here.

Nature of Chakras

Chakras are energy structures that are part of our invisible body. They absorb universal energy and adapt it for our use in the physical world. This universal energy called different names in different cultures (prana, chi, life energy, spirit). The word "chakra" means “wheel”, meaning a wheel of energy. People with the ability to see chakras describe them as spinning wheels of energy.

Our invisible auric body consists of several layers or dimensions: etheric, emotional, mental, buddhic, atmic, monadic and divine. Chakras permeate all these dimensions and have various functions at each one of these levels.

Chakras start to form very early in utero and continue to develop through our whole life. Barbara Brennan writes that up to the age of 7 children operate through their mothers’ chakras before their own energetic bodies are sufficiently developed.

Why learn about chakras?

Chakras function together as a support network.

So what is the point of talking about things that are invisible and so abstract?

The chakra system provides an alternative framework to study psychological development and the process of personal evolution. Development of each chakra provides a stepping stone in the human journey and a foundation for the next developmental step.

Chakras can have too much energy or too little. This affects how we experience the world and act in it.

Chakras do not work in isolation. They function together as a support network. Together they create two moving streams of energy. One stream moves downwards from heaven to earth, bringing consciousness into matter (manifestation). The other one moves upwards from earth to heaven liberating energy from solid matter. Kinesiology chakra healing is a type of metaphysical healing that works with your whole being: the chakra energies and problems created by the imbalances of these energies. BASE CHAKRA

solidity, matter, gravity, security

The Base chakra creates the foundation of our physical existence.

The Base Chakra creates the foundation of our physical existence, it draws energy for building physical body, ensures its health, vitality and longevity. The Base Chakra takes care of our basic necessities – food and shelter, stable and reliable environment, regular income. On the metaphysical level, the Base Chakra is about building trust, safety and security. We learn to trust our environment that it will take care of us. We learn to trust people to feel connected and supported. And we learn to trust ourselves to be able to manifest all necessities of life at the right time.

Another name for the Base Chakra is a Root Chakra. It ensures our stability and being nurtured by Mother Earth.

The Base Chakra is connected with adrenal glands. The feeling of insecurity or danger are a direct threat to our sense of trust. Adrenal fatigue and chronic stress indicate undercharged base chakra energy. (To test yourself for chronic stress symptoms find Adrenal Chronic Stress Questionnaire here.

Overly materialistic attitude, over-reliance on an accumulation of worldly goods and hoarding points at excess energy in base chakra. Both are imbalances that make our lives less enjoyable, less fulfilling and standing on the way of our personal growth. SACRAL CHAKRA

fluidity, movement, polarity

The Sacral chakra relates to issues of emotional health, sexuality and fertility.

The Sacral Chakra relates to issues of emotional nature, ability to relate, need of other person, ability to experience pleasure and allow your natural creativity to flow. Also, this chakra is connected with sexuality, fertility and hormonal balance. (For article about menopause click here, to test yourself for hormonal imbalance symptoms click here.)

The first experience of this pull associated with the production of oxytocin in infancy. The release of oxytocin soothes the baby, makes them experience a positive secure connection to the mother and relaxes the reflexes of danger and emotional distress. In adolescence, we are swept by sex hormones which signify the next stage of development. A gravitational pull between the Self and the other creates the condition for the creation of something new, allowing conception of a child and liberating artistic creative forces. NAVEL (or SOLAR PLEXUS) CHAKRA

combustion, impact, fiery nature

The Solar Plexus chakra relates to issues of personal will and power.

The Navel (or Solar Plexus) Chakra explores issues of individuation, the realisation of our personal will and desire to act on it. Healthy Navel chakra allows us to be assertive without being domineering or aggressive. It allows us to make choices for ourselves rather than submitting to the will of others. This Chakra signifies the stage of psychological separation, the time when we become our own person, feeling brave and proud of our differences with others, opinions and views. Issues of self-esteem, submissive disposition, and manipulation can be helped with the Navel Chakra healing.  To read more about how kinesiology can help relationships click here.

Balanced with inclusive loving energy of the Heart Chakra, security and trust of the Base Chakra and communication and self-expression of the Throat Chakra, healthy work of Navel Chakra results in self-respect, and ability to act with appropriate authority and attention to other people’s opinions and preferences. HEART CHAKRA

balance, love, acceptance

The balanced Heart Chakra allows to build meaningful mature loving relationships.

The Heart Chakra is a middle point where two streams meet half way. Some esoteric teachings see the Heart Chakra as the best representation of human predicament – raised above matter, but not yet reaching the heights of the Spirit.

Heart Chakra’s job is to expand our definition of ourselves and include others in our world. People who predominantly operate at the Navel Chakra level, see other as a foreigner, invader or a possible danger. When we move into the Heart Chakra space we start seeing our own reflection in others and accept other people as part of our world. The Heart Chakra cultivates forgiveness and unconditional love.

THROAT CHAKRA

vibration, resonance, truth

The Throat Chakra allows to radiate our true divine spirit.

The Throat Chakra deals with the impression of our essence onto the world. In other words, it allows us to radiate our spirit outwards. The Throat Chakra requires an input of all the chakras below: we need to realise who we are, explore our feelings, recognise ourselves as a separate person and then open ourselves to others before our self-expression is ready to bloom. This manifests through our speech, artistic creativity and by virtue of being true to ourselves.  If you would like to examine your chakras’ health, test yourself using chakra healing questionnaire here.

BROW (or THIRD EYE) CHAKRA

perception, luminance, insight

The Brow Chakra makes us see the pattern of our lives and to transform information into knowledge and experiences into wisdom. No wonder that another name for this chakra is the Third Eye because it makes us develop insight, meaning the ability to look within.

Too little energy in the Brow Chakra results in the inability to make sense of the world, to see the big picture and to connect the dots in order to see the pattern of your life. Too much energy in the Brow Chakra manifests in being susceptible to illusions, deluding ourselves, seeing what we want to see rather than to have an objective view on things. If you would like to examine your chakras’ health, test yourself using chakra healing questionnaire here.

The Brow Chakra makes us see the pattern of our lives and transform knowledge into wisdom.

CROWN CHAKRA

consciousness, unification, understanding

The Crown Chakra represents our connection with the divinity. Lack of energy in the Crown Chakra results in feeling separate from the wold, sense of spiritual isolation, hopelessness and mistrust. Overstimulated Crown chakra manifests in religious fanaticism and delusions.

Many people succumb to the glamour of Crown Chakra as a pinnacle of spiritual development. According to many authorities on this subject, the foundation of spiritual development starts with health and vitality of lower chakras and the harmonious rise of energy all the way through to the Crown. Aggressive work on Crown Chakra alone, ignoring others, may cause serious mental unrest and disorders. That is why spiritual practices in ashrams and monasteries used to be well balanced with hard physical labour and community work, ensuring the harmonious rise of energy through all stages of spiritual development.

Healing through chakras

I do chakra healing work often as part of my kinesiology sessions. It involves sound therapy, acupressure, affirmations and some other energy healing methods.

The kinesiology chakra healing starts with identifying an issue and determining the priority. Some of my clients come to me looking for help with insecurity and chronic stress. Base chakra healing helps with these issues. Others would like to transform their relationships and get rid of co-dependency and toxic tires to their close family members. This issues can be addressed with Sacral and Heart Chakra work. Issues of confidence, healthy assertiveness and self-esteem are connected to Navel and Throat Chakras. And the issues of insight, spiritual connection, ability to see patterns in life, and becoming aware of your own shortcomings can be resolved with Brow and Crown Chakra healing.

Every type of stress corresponds to a specific aspect of a relevant chakra. Guided by the muscle tone, a kinesiologists identifies attitudes and beliefs that hold the stress in place and prevent resolution.  Here is a hypothetical example of how it works:

The issue: Lack of resilience to life stresses, being easily disheartened, pessimistic

The unhelpful attitude : “I cannot trust.”

The kinesiology healing:

  • Discussion with the client about the negative belief. This helps to bring the issue to the client’s awareness.

  • The kinesiologist investigates and acknowledges the physical processes that represent the belief in the body. These may include, for instance, high level of cortisol, hyperactivity of the adrenal glands, respiratory distress, poor utilisation of vitamin B12 and mental fog.

  • The final stage of the healing is the application of appropriate techniques such as, for instance, Base Chakra sound healing or acupressure. Dissolution of energetic blockages is transmitted from the chakra to the energy meridians, to the endocrine system, to other body systems. The belief is no longer manifests at the neurological, emotional and etheric levels. This creates room for the creation of a new, more appropriate and supportive belief system.
