How is your weight loss going?

You may find the very subject depressing and making you want to go to the fridge.

You probably attempted many diets but nothing seems to work.

Perhaps you were successful in the past in losing few kilos, but then promptly put them all back on.

Weight loss is easy with the right support

Losing weight is challenging because this issue has a variety of physiological and psychological causes. Most often I come across such things as:

  • Not feeling safe with other people and needing to create a protective barrier

  • Self-sabotage

  • Hormonal regulation issues

  • Effects of long-term illness

  • Medications side effects

  • Low self-esteem

  • Adrenal fatigue, lack of energy and motivation

  • Nutritional disorders including food cravings, candida, poor digestion and absorptions of water and nutrients

The weight loss process relies on a simple equation of calories intake versus calories burn out. One kilogram of body fat represents approximately 7,500 calories. Most weight loss systems are based on the principle of creating the caloric deficit (e.g. burning more calories than consuming). However, in reality, nutrition and exercise are only the tip of the iceberg. The most difficult thing when losing weight is to change the behaviour and eliminate the subconscious need to hoard weight.

Water

Water is necessary for all metabolic processes in the body, such as digestion, assimilation of nutrients, cellular processes, elimination of body wastes, lubrication, temperature regulation, brain function, skin elasticity, muscle tonus and much more.

When we lose weight, toxins accumulated in fat tissues are getting flashed out, a process that requires additional water. That’s why many nutritionists and dieticians advocate the importance of hydration.

Drinking water serves several purposes in any weight loss program from improved metabolic rate and detox to sense of fullness between the meals

Suppose you are determined to drink the recommended 2 litres of water a day. What can go wrong? These are the common stumbling blocks:

· No desire to drink water

· Frequent water intake causes frequent toilet trips

· Water retention

· Bloating

· Poor digestion

Kinesiology is well equipped to assist with these problems. Energetic correction at the cellular level can ensure that body tissues absorb and utilise water better. Kinesiology can assist kidney function to help with water retention and enhance endocrine function for more efficient metabolic processes.

Food

There are many dieting systems. Through careful selection, you can find one that works for you. Here are some problems people encounter when dieting:

Emotional comfort from healthy and nurturing food is especially important during a weight loss program

· Difficulties to stick to a diet

· Dieting diligently but unable to shift weight

· Emotional eating

· Food sensitivities

· Poor digestion

· Mood swings

· Cravings

· Irritability

· Self-sabotage

· Binging

Kinesiology has effective tools to support hormonal health, nutrient absorption and healthy metabolic rate for effective dieting. Kinesiological corrections to blood sugar regulation can help reduce sugar and carbohydrates cravings.

Often our physiological issues are caused by underlining psychological problems around self-esteem and feeling of powerlessness. These emotions and attitudes create the default setting for our physiology. Kinesiology can help to investigate and eliminate these stumbling blocks to achieve your weight goal.

Nutrients

Long periods of stress deplete the body from crucial nutrients. In addition to a healthy diet, it may be necessary to rely on supplements to replenish your nutritional reserves

Ideally, we should receive all the vitamins and nutrients from the food. Suppose you eat lots of fruits and vegetables, fish, lean meats and wholesome grains, seeds and nuts. Are you getting all the nutrients that your body needs? There are several reasons why in modern times even the best diet may not supply all the building blocks for your body:

Soil depletion Poor soils produce foods poor in nutrients. With increased population, agricultural methods become more aggressive to compensate for the inability of soils to naturally regenerate. To meet this demand, areas less suitable for agriculture are now used for growing foods. This means that there are fewer nutrients in fresh produce. Additionally, some vitamins are formed only in naturally ripened fruits and vegetables. To guarantee long shelf life, commercially grown produce is collected too early before the produce reached its nutrition-rich stage.

Pollution We are exposed to air and water pollution. Plastic containers, aluminium kitchen pots and utensils, toothpaste, cosmetics, teeth fillings, food processing methods, agricultural fertilisers, insecticides and toxins expelled by interior design features (carpets, paints, furniture) – all these are sources of toxic substances (such as mercury, aluminium, cadmium, copper and lead). Excess of these substances in the body blocks absorption and utilisation of vital nutrients.

Stress Stress is a significant factor that switches on flight and fight responses which shuts down digestive and regenerative body functions. Kinesiology is effective in dealing with stress, calming down the survival emotions and awakening the body’s natural ability to heal and regenerate.

Movement and Exercise

"Movement makes us moving in life" Louise Hay

There are several reasons why people find it hard to exercise regularly:

· Self- sabotage

· Low energy and low motivation

· Self-esteem and body image issues

· Pains and aches

· Postural imbalances that put additional stress on the body

· Joints problems

In short, there are physical and psychological issues that prevent us from committing to a consistent exercise routine. What can be done about it?

Kinesiology helps to change self-destructive behaviours and attitudes

Negative self-image and low self-esteem are common among people of all ages.

In my sessions, I help people to become aware of their stumbling blocks to greater self-acceptance and self-appreciation. This involves working with painful memories from the past and subconscious patterns of thinking and behaving.

Kinesiology helps with muscular and postural issues

Kinesiology was originally designed to deal with muscular-skeletal problems and it remains non-intrusive, gentle and effective technique to resolve these issues. Kinesiology treatment is effective and produces lasting results because it looks into emotional reasons for physical imbalance. Once we move beyond old attitudes and destructive emotions, our body heals itself naturally and effortlessly.
